SEYMOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Seymour Police Department, under the leadership of Chief Bill Abbott, and Assistant Chief of Police, Craig Hayes, has a force of 39 sworn officers, 10 telecommunications officers, 3 clerical staff, 1 parking attendant, 1 animal control officer, and 1 crossing guard. Of the 39 sworn officers, 1 is assigned as a School Resource officer, 2 are assigned as DARE officers, 2 K-9 officers, 2 Motorcycle units, and 5 are assigned to Criminal Investigations/Detectives, one of which is assigned full-time to drug investigations. Officers volunteered to participate in various units such as: Emergency Response Team (ERT), Traffic Investigation Team, and Honor Guard Detail.

Seymour Law Enforcement Building
The Seymour Police Department moved from the old police station at 220 N. Chestnut Street to the current Seymour Law Enforcement Building at 205 North Ewing Street on May 8, 2007.
