City Engineer, Jerry Hartsell, retired in January 2010 after 30 years of service, He coordinated the Local Road and Street budget, which paid for approximately 5 miles of city streets to receive milling and overlay each year. The City Engineer also supervised drainage improvements, stoplights, annexation descriptions and surveying, newly planned streets, traffic counts, property lines, and sewer locations.
Jerry Hartsell is shown above with Sterling Long of Boy Scout Troop 526. Sterling shadowed the City Engineer on February 10, 2009 during Boy Scout Week. Jerry retired in January 2010, after 30 years of service to the City of Seymour.
